STUDENTS SPEAK
"This course has changed my perspective about schools, students and education. Now I know that a teacher not just make her
learners read and write, but she makes them acquire knowledge and various concepts keeping in mind their diverse social,
cultural background, their cognitive levels as well as their linguistic profiles. A great teacher devotes herself to help students
flourish in their own capabilities and potential being herself an active learner.
This course has provided me opportunities to interact with learners and develop as a teacher by teaching
and learning from the very beginning itself in the form of various practicum like school contact program, observing children, block teaching and 6months school internship."

MAGIC OF LSR
But if 'I' tell you about it
You wouldn't know
Maybe you'll think you do
Something similar you might know
But not the exact thing I'm talking about
I might tell you what I thought of it at first
And what it turned to be for me
Maybe I'll also tell you about everything this place has made me grow into
I can write about how I felt like an alien in the premises when I joined
And how I grew possessive of each brick of this institute
About my journey from the one fresh face in the ambience
To the member of the family
About everything this place has given me
I will write
You'll read
I'll tell and you'll know
But will you?

"[AGE 5]
“Beta, bade ho kr kya banoge?”
“ mai, mai toh teacher banoongi, drawing wali"
[AGE 13]
“Ok class, since it’s the first day of the session, I want you all to tell me your names and what do you want to become when you grow up. Okay?”
“My name’s Sugandhi, and I Want to be a teacher!”
[AGE 16]
“Oh beta, which stream are you planning to take?”
“ umm.. I'm taking Humanities.”
“Humanities? But why?”
“ Because I want to be a teacher!”
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a Teacher, more specifically an English Teacher. Probably because of the fact that I have been taught by some great teachers who’ve made me fall in love with English and who’ve always inspired me. So this is my way of repaying the favour.
But sticking to just one subject would’ve restricted the possibility of me falling for another subject. And hence, B.El,Ed seemed a viable option, which would enable me to study a diverse range of subjects over the next 4 years and then choose a specific one.
At the end of First Year, after all the tiring assignments and reflections, I feel it’s worth it for the immense knowledge and practice it has given me about handling children. It has taught me things I did not think were important to know and has changed my whole perception of a teacher or rather of a good teacher who knows what she is doing.
Coming to LSR, there indeed is a Magic of LSR that leaves you awestruck. The aura that it radiates changes you. It changes you in a lot of ways and you can definitely feel the change. The kind of debates and discussions that we have in classrooms or among friends are quite different now- it’s not just random things but some serious issues. Everyone has an opinion and everyone is entitled to express it. You get to interact with very different people and work with them as well.
I’ve come to know of things I didn’t know about myself and the things that I'm capable of doing. It’s indeed an experience I would never trade for anything else."

"The first day I stepped inside LSR as a first year student of B.El.Ed, I was this introverted person who didn't like to socialize much and was really anxious about how she is going to manage everything.
But the magic of LSR, it change you for good.
Everyone told me that I'm going to miss school in college but, that didn't happen at all.
It was in college that I learnt to make connections with my teachers and got to know about the real importance of one. LSR and particularly my department have not just given me opportunities to grow everyday but, also have nurtured me throughout.
Today I feel I'm a more aware and confident person and I owe this all to LSR."

"It's been just a year and my perspective towards a lot of things has changed. I am also able to take others perspectives in a better way.
It's probably the course, the faculty and the college environment which has led to this."

"B.El.Ed. is just not a course. It’s a whole new world for me. It has given me a completely different dimension to look at the world and question it. It is eventually turning into a tool which is helping me shape myself into something I could never imagine.
B.El.Ed. at LSR is an exceptionally amazing journey. It breaks you into a million pieces and lets you redevelop your individuality with each piece adorning you as a jewel."

"B.El.Ed. + LSR, there is no other place I would rather be! One year into the course and I am enchanted by the magic that the combination of these two entities have cast upon me. I have finally found a space where I can enjoy the true essence of modern education. Here we have a culture of questioning and thinking critically, instead of just going by the book. The teachers here facilitate this process to maximum extent possible. I am an entirely different person from what I was an year before, and a better one"

"B.El.Ed at LSR college has given me opportunity to enhance my social and verbal skills. The way theory and practicals are integrated made this course very supportive for a student to understand realities and link them to contemporary theories and thus making it possible for a student to analyse the realities herself and to find out from her own perspective what is right or wrong. According to me, this is the course which has given me flexibility to keep my own points about what I understand and challenge what theories say without any fear of being scolded or penalized in some or other form. Teachers at LSR are highly cooperative and helpful. One can freely approach teachers for any problem not only for academic doubts but also for personal problems. I strongly recommend this course and college for all those who see potential teachers in them and want to be future citizens who are dedicated to serve the nation through education and that too quality education which is free from any biases, greed and stereotypes and directed towards the welfare of nation and it's people."

"LSR is every girl's dream college and rightly so. It's a plethora of talent . Being here in B.El.Ed it's a life changing experience which catered holistic change in me. The course also allowed me a variety of work experience with children within and outside elementary schools (slum schools, special schools, etc). The faculty here is extremely cooperative, have a good knowledge base and are willing to impart it."
