The annual academic meet of The Department of Elementary Education of Lady Shri Ram College for Women Held its annual academic meet 'Sehar' on the 15th March, 2019. Sehar 2019's theme 'Attaining literacy through stories' resonates deeply with the events of 2018. From the experiences inside university campuses, to the increasingly complicated social life of people, one's literacy has become changed concept.
Sehar's panel comprised of esteemed scholars from the field of Psychology, Hindi, Linguistics and Education. Dr. Meenakshi Khar, Dr. Maya Joshi, Ms. Prachi Kalra, Ms. Pooja Gehani, Ms. Shefali Malhotra, all spearheaded an illuminating discussion on the theme. The second half of the meet included a performance by Dr. Ashish Ghosh and Ms. Ruma Ghosh, who mesmerized the audience by their story telling session.
The 'Story Telling', and the 'Read aloud' competition received enthusiastic response by the students. As the day drew to an end, Sehar displayed its unique ability to bring students together and bind them and make memories which would last a lifetime. The spirit of Sehar spread once again throughout the LSR campus, illuminating mind and touching hearts.
